What specie of deep water acro is this?

Due to the lack of polyps it must be a deep water acro, I've never seen the grow shape anywhere though, anyone knows what type of acropora this is?

I think it is Acropora elegans.

That very well could be an Anacropora also.

I found out the real name of the acro, it is an acropora pichoni. Thanks for the help all!

Do you see any polyp extension?

No, no extension at all.... I have a couple of granulosa's but they do show polyp extension... So maybe the deeper the coral, the lesser polyps?

That is one of the nicest brown Acropora corals I've seen in a while :lol:. Any idea where it was exported from? I think it should extend some white or possibly clear polyps after a week or two.

Hi guys,

It comes from indonesia, but is rarely imported because the divers have to go too deep.

The color is indeed brown and rarely changes. I think that makes the piece even more unique, a true brown is seldom seen
