What tang would you go with?

I like the Blue Throat Trigger!! And they are know to be Reefsafe too!

To piggyback on what nookie said, Instead of buying another large fish I got 5 small yellow tail damsels and they really add a lot to the look of the tank. Sometimes they hang out together, sometimes not and there's always little splashes of bright blue flashing about. Not one of them has show an ounce of aggression toward anything either....Just a thought...

The other thing to consider is we are "hobbyists" trying to provide the ideal, long-term environment for the fish and their best interests...not a LFS or it's employees trying to sell us on something or displaying multiple large specimens in an under-sized tank trying to get us to believe that it "works".

Truth is, the LFS put all kinds of big fish into little tanks, but they will not be there for long because they sell them. We, on the other hand, have to look past that mentality and realize that "sure, we can put these fish in our tanks, but eventually there will be a price to pay".

BTW, I think Kent's idea is cool....those little damsels have more color and pizzazz than most tangs do, imo.

Go out and look at photos of reefscapes and you'll see large numbers of smaller fish when compared to the size of the reefscape. I wanted to recreate that by having small groups of smaller fish with a few larger ones instead of one on many different kinds of fish. My current fish list includes:

5 small yellow tail damsels
3 royal grammas (Harem)
1 cardinal
1 yellow tang (will get 2 more)
1 fiji blue damsel (well behaved)
1 foxface
2 cinamon clowns
1 flame angel
1 lunare wrasse
1 rainbow wrasse
1 firefish
1 coral beauty
1 green chromis

Almost all of those fish stay small and while it looks like a ton of fish, it looks natural and definately not overstocked when you look at the tank....
