i have a 75 gallon RR, with a 30 gallon fuge/sump (lots of macro). the system ahs abot 150 lbs LR, and i am running a Super skimmer 125.

currently i have no fish in the tank. i plan on haveing 2 clowns, and one six line wrassse from my previous system.

what tang do you think i could add? i dont want a yellow tang. i was thinking a whitecheek would be good. what about you fish guys out there?

THIS IS A REEF TANK

If you were to get one, I would suggest a Kole Tang. Very easy to keep, Picks at the rocks 24/7 and doesn't require as much swimming room as most other Tangs.

i want a colorful fish if it is going to be the main fish in my tank.

are whitecheeks hard to keep??? it seems like it should be fine in my tank size wise. they only grow to 8 inches at the max and are reccomend for 75 gallon tanks and up in countless books, the thread above, liveaquaria.com, and other resources.

White cheeks are VERY active. They do best in a 6' tank. I have had one since Dec. It was in a 55 gallon qt..he paced and was very skittish. I finally placed him in my 125 [soon to be goin to my 240] he has now got goosebumps:mad: Not ich, I don't know whats wrong with him:rolleyes: Are they hard to keep? I have had one issue after another with mine..VERY prone to ich and now mine has some other funk [again] I love the fish but I am getting pretty frustrated with his constant 'issues'
I would also suggest a Kole..

any other fish besides kole?

Good options Trottman would be any of the Zebrasoma or Ctenochaetus genus species. There are seven Zebrasoma species... yellow, purple, scopas, black (pricey but somewhat available), gem (about $1000!), and the two species of sailfins which I wouldn't recommend. Good Ctenochaetus species are the chevron or tomini (my favorite bristletooth!)

Stay away from Acanthurus species like the whitecheek in your system...

Here's a shot of the tomini... and the second shot shows the tomini in the center with the yellow and black below... more pics in my gallery for reference... good luck!

well... those look good, but the only one that my lfs can get in is the tomani. are there any other fish that would do good in my system that are colorful? non-tang?

is there any anthias.... (mabe a small school of 4-5) that woudl do well?

You could order online at places like liveaquaria.com which I have had excellent luck with... A small group of anthias would be fine assuming you feed at least twice a day. I've kept lyretails and bartlett's in systems your size with good results... one male and 2 or 3 females would be fine...
