Kool, I saw that landlord keeps his at about 82. I would rather keep it warm so in the summer I don't have to worry about overheating. We don't have air conditioning in houses up here.
My tank is still sitting at 81. I have had very little die off. I have some really hot lights so I also have 2x 7 inch clip on desk fans blowing the surface of the water. I do not use a glass top either. The room with the tank get pretty warm so I also have to leave the ceiling fan on to keep the air moving.
It's like a sweat house here in Florida so if you could send me some o'that cold Alaska goodness my tank would love you for it!
