SG - 1.023 PH 8.2 Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 40 Phosphate between .4 & .6 Phosphates have actually dropped this week. I have done R/O water change (usually use tap) and been using Phos-zorb

You need to use R/O absolutely ALL OF THE TIME. It may seem like a silly expense, but it's absolutely worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY.

It's quite possibly the most important money you will ever spend for your reef.

I have 3 rbta and 1 gbta, only the gbta does that 1x a day for couple hours (when daylights come on) then he'll go back to normal. Haven't seen it from the 3 rbta.

Yea I think you are right about the R/O everyone seems happier Update. This is what he looks like now. Normal? Taking a crap?

Nitrates being at 40 could be a big part of the problem. Your nitrates should be as close to 0 as possible.

Agree with petoonia, get those trates down to zero. Also as mentioned: when you have a reef setup, for best results always use R/O water with TDS as close to zero as you can get. This solves a lot of problems and prevents many possible future ones.

More.......... your SG is a little low. S/B 1.025 or 1.026 with nems in the system.

yep it's on it's way out, had that happen to a nem that was never happy in my tank i'm sure that it didn't help i saved it from petco belive me my tank was way better than theirs i just think i was too late to save it. RO water is a must in reef tanks.

How long was the BTA in the tank? 40 ppm nitrate don't kill anemones, especially a gradual increase... There is probably another culprit...

Is there any chance that some salt creep fell on it? I had a piece of salt creep fall on a BTA and it took it out.

This isn't the normal deflating that will happen when expelling waste.

if it's not losing color at all it could be getting ready to split. My rbta did the same thing and scared the crap outta me. But if it IS losing color it's dying, and I'm sorry--best get it out before it kills anything.
