When doing a water change you should use new water, not water from your DT.

What about bacteria thing? It is already there ?
Also, how much amonia is too much?(seachem alert badge)

Not sure on the bacteria thing your referring to. Your ammonia should be 0 before introduction of any fish

everything was 0 untill yesterday.... i dosed cupramine again and than amonia went up! i did water change of 1.5 -2 gallons.this morning i noticed that it's still not 0. another water change?

Seems like a lot of fish to quarantine all at once in a 10 g qt. I too am no expert, but the ammonia seems likely with that bioload, unless you have a substantial established bio-filter.

Man...I didn't know it take this much work to add a new fish to a tank.

How many fish are in that 10g qt? You can use prime to bring the ammonia down. Don't overdose it, some say it can lead to problems if overdosed. If you put all of those fish into a 10g aquarium you are going to have a daily struggle with ammonia.

i have 2 fish in quarantine tank right now. ammonia is visible (less than 0.05)but fish is doing fine... water change every 2 days(use dt water)saturday gonna run carbon to get rid of cupramine and another water change.2 more weeks for observation and dt!

Looks like my Fairy Wrasse and Longnose doing good in DT. Thinking about adding another 2 fish to quarantine this week.I had thought about:Midas Blenny,Earmuff Wrasse-?,Exquisite Fairy Wrasse(like the most),Melanurus Wrasse-?,Black Cap Basslet.Need to pick 2 out of these!

I haven't read the whole thread, but wanted to caution with the hawkfish. I had one and loved the personality. The fish was hilarious. My caution is mine was very aggressive to my other fish. Ended up forcing 2 filefish to carpet surf while I was out of the house, and picked on my flame angel causing irreversible damage. At first I thought the personality was enough to make me keep him, but after one fish dies, he'd just target the next. Ended up tearing my tank apart to get him out. I don't know if others have had better luck, but I'd use caution at least when selecting one.

So far i see all 4 fish swimming together. I didn't see any problems.
