I had the same type not long ago. They spread around and were on alot of surfaces. Then as quickly as they came they went. They didnt seem to bother anything while they were there. I would suggest siphoning them out if removal is necessary. If pieces get broken off and float around they will eventually settle and start a new colony.
Unless you mean siphon the pieces out as I break them off. They are firmly planted, and won't siphon. Only way I've been able to get any out is to grab them with tweezers and pull.
Don't take any chances..Remove the rock and frag the zoa's. I waited to long and they are spreading all over my tank stinging my zoa's. When I do my tank swap.. I'm cooking all my rock to take care of them for good.
