What to do on 180 gallon setup?

Sorry for asking this but i cant ever get the search to work!!

My current setup is an ampmaster 3000 on a closed loop with 4 outlets on SCWD's however one of them has stopped switching and im not getting great flow and i have a lot of dead spots. I also have 1 6060 stream and about 700gph in my return pump.


I had been considering another stream and getting rid of theampmaster but now i am heavily considering the wavebox? I have about 1" of clearance before my bracing on the top and i think i have a good place to mount it, the tank is a standard 180 6x2x2 with an overflow on one end. my questions are as follows

1- is 1" clearance enough or do i need more?
2- is it better to mount on the overflow side or the opposite side?
3- is 1 6060, 1 wavebox and 500-700 gph return enough for a mainly SPS tank?
4- would i be better going withsome more streams instead? i really like the full tank flow the wavebox provides.
5- what is the best way to mount on a standard AGA?
6- what effect does the wavebox have on substrates? will it blow all over or does it keep relativly still?

answers to these questions are really appreciated

1) You can turn it down if necessary.
2)It should be positioned on an end, the rest is not too important except that the outlet have a fairly clear shot at the far end of the tank.

3) I think more may be required- like another 6060 or even a 6080
4) The wavebox has many benefits, including better polyp extension and less detritus accumulation
5) Magnet holder on the bottom, clamp on the top.
6) Dunes may form in fine sand otherwise little or no effect.

Thanks roger, i do currently have an ampmaster 3000 on a closed loop but i would like to remove it and possibly add another stream, maybe a 6080 as it draws far less wattage then the 270 or so the ampmaster draws, id rather spend the cash up front and have lower operating expenses then the other way around

4) I'm much happier with water movement with the combination of wavebox and streams than the streams alone.

5) I use a magnet on the bottom and two suction cups on the top.

6) I'm not sure my DSB moves at all due to the wavebox. If it does it is insignificant compared to what the streams cause.
