What to do, what to do?!?!

My dilemma has been argued one way or the other time and time again, and I am still no closer to deciding. CA Reactor or doser? I currently have a MRC CR6 dual chamber reactor, but after my latest replumbing job, I want to do it right and most of all, final. I like my reactor but never really took the time to dial it in. I just recently purchased a tunze reg and solenoid to put on it, but do i go through the trouble? Or do I sell it, and buy a 3 head doser? Im probably making to much of it.

Ca reactor. To me this is an easy decision. Worst part of ca rx is initial cost and you already have one. Easier to maintain balance of mg,ca, and alk. Less long term work.

I'm looking into them too. Because they break down coral skeleton, don't they pretty much take care of dosing calc, alk, mag and trace elements, Or, do am I messing up?

yes, but I am of the understanding they also break down everything else in the matter. Also from what I have read it isn't really coral skeletons anymore. can the remember what it is, but coral skeletons aren't common Nymore.

My vote is for calcium reactor as well. Plug and play. I'm a big fan of the aquarium plants electronic carbondoser for regulator.

It does some trace related to growth but does not trace for color. This is a very general statement best to look into exactly what is broken down specific to what media you use.

Calcium reactor for sure. You can't nuke anything if your calcium reactor has a problem. You can if your doser goes nutso for some reason.

I guess I'm the stand alone for doser. I don't think you can go wrong if you have it on a controller. I can make microadjustments from my computer to dial it in based on twice weekly hannah alk testing. I keep my solutions in 5 gallon buckets and only have to remake every other month. Pretty economical if you buy the big 5 gallon tubs from BRS.
