so i had a pair of clowns and now down to one...
what do i do with the single clown?
suggestions please - pair or not to pair that is the question...
i do have another pair in the 150g tank...

I wouldn't add it to the pair.. that probably won't end well.. you could go pick up a small male from it LFS and hope for the best.

Is it ocellaris? If so go ahead and get another one, maybe a different color for contrast. I have my black and white paired with a black ice, though the black ice hasn't darkened up yet, but the snowflake pattern makes a great addition either way. Just make sure the new one is noticably smaller than the other to make sure you don't end up with two females.

Sorry, but I am a little confused by the wording. Is the other pair in the same tank? If so, what kind are they? If not, then just get a small ocellaris of some color or another and allow the current one to have a friend.

Just buy a small one and add it, they will probably pair up. I had a pair, one jumped, and then I got a new one. It paired with the new one too, and then I had a house fire and lost the tank and all the fish except for the one clownfish I originally had, which was flopping in a little puddle of sooty water in some sand. I had the LFS hold him and now that I have my new tank set up he is paired with yet another. You can see them both in my avatar pic there.
