What to dose in a QT tank?

I guess this is more of a general question but...

When you pick up a new fish and you are unsure what (if any) diseases/parasites it has, what are the best meds to use to increase the chance that your fish will make it?

EM Erythromycin?
Furan-2?
Copper?
Tetracycline?

Or something more broad like the the API "General Cure" Medication ?

Just want to know so that I can have some on hand for the next time I get some livestock.

I aim at eradication of ich with Cu or hypo.

I do not aim to eradicate pathogenic bacteria so I do not use antibiotics preventively. I use UV against external bacterial infection and hope for immunity to develop. I use antibiotics only against external bacterial infection established on a fish.

I also treat against fluke while the fish is in isolation.

These are the three categories of diseases and treatment.

Water quality and nutrition are prime (but insufficient) considerations so the fish should eat well ASAP.

How do you treat against the Fukes?

When I get a fish I try to give them time to settle in and eat before treating for anything. I treat ALL new fish with two rounds of praziquantel with a large water change in between. After the fish is done with the prazi, they stay in quarantine for observation for a minimum of 4-6 weeks. If at that point they still seem healthy I move them to the DT.

If at any point they show signs of illness, I move them to a hospital tank and treat accordingly. Once they are done with treatment and appear healthy, they go back to the quarantine tank for observation for 4-6 weeks and then on to the DT.

UV generally degrades most but the most stable medication, so the use of medication is delayed until the latter half of the duration to eradicate ich. After five weeks of Cu and UV, I start to think about fluke.
