What to feed a clown trigger?

I would like to find out what a proper diet is for a clown trigger about 4" long? What should I feed him and what supplements should I add?

Currently he has been eating clam, mussel, prawns, squid (though he does not really like that too much).

What else? I do not want to have him get ill in a year or two due to malnutrition. Also, his underside and top side seemed pinched a bit - is this normal?

I currently feed him 1 - 2 times a day. Is this enough?

Well you can add in Raw Shrimp, Scallops, Mysis, Ocean Perch, Tilapia, Crab and so on.......... Try greens with your trigger, I tear mine into piece and put it on top, my Pinktail just tears the clips up.

I try feeding my trigger 2 - 3 times per day and one of those meals include greens.

Please elaborate on how you feed the greens? Are you referring to things like sushi nori? Mine ignores it.

what do you mean by pinched in? like starvation?

if you're feeding him that good variety 1-2 times/day then he should not be starving

did you just get the fish? maybe he was sick from the LFS??

try Ocean Nutrition frozen cubes made for herbivores or check if some of the other formulations for carnivores/omnivores include greens (there may be a trigger version).

I swear that most clown triggers that hit the stores could be used to jimmy open a door. They are skinny! I have a 2.5" blue line that is shy to eat, but I feed once a day during the week, and 2-3 times a day on the weekends. It won't get the full look. I've had it for over 2 months and the same look. I only think it would get the full look if I placed it in a solo tank where it could be target fed 3 times a day, or put a piece of shrimp on a veggy clip and leave it while I'm at work. Just keep trying.

I would not recomend tilapia because it's a freshwater fish, and has higher fat content. but you can got to your local grocery store and get pretty much any saltwater fish that they have for sale ( although I do not recomend salmon due to it being really fatty and it will leave an oilly slick on the surface of your water.)
Shrimp, clam, scallops will all be fine but you do want to mx it up a bit so that he doesn't get the same thing every day.
