What to feed??

Hello all I have a bunch of misc zoas, shrooms, xenia, anthelia, hammer and Blasto Merletti's.. What should I be feeding and how often? I'm currently feeding Kent Phytomax or something like that everyother day.. I had tried some frozen cyclopeeze that I had around from raising some cichlids as well..

What is everyone feeding their corals and how often? What should I be feeding?
Any and all help would be much appreciated..

Thanks

I use Kent Phytomax also, and to tell you the truth so far I think it's crap. I spent $20 on it and I haven't seen any difference. My friend never used any food and only couple of additives (trace and calcium every week), and his filter feeding corals are doing great. All of his zoas, mushrooms, and xenias are doing great without food. I'm still going to finish the whole bottle though and see if there's any difference in the long run, but so far there isn't any.

Well thats not good to hear :( Hopefully someone else will chime in with some better recommendations if this stuff is no good...

Ogre are you running any type of skimmer and what is your bioload like?

I have 10 juvie perculas 6 small hermit crabs and 4 nassarius snails.. I'm running an ER 5-20.. I wonder if I should cut back on the skimmer use.. Maybe I'm taking too much of the nutrients out of the water..

The tank is a 20L with about 40+lbs of LR and 30lbs of LS.. There is an additional 10lbs of rock in the sump along with a big ball of chaeto..

I suggest not cutting back on your skimmer (JMO). I used to feed cyclopeeze and still do every now and then (once a month give or take). For the most part, I just scrape the glass and that does the trick. Mine are sps and all are doing fine.

I have a cpr bak pak skimmer and fluval filter. My zoos, mushrooms, and xenia liked it better when I was running skimmerless that's because they like dirty water. But I can't do that because I have other lps that needs clean water. And I see that you have a hammer and blasto so I don't think you should cut back on your skimmer.

This is my bioload:
1 maroon clownfish
3 damsels
1 lawnmower blenny
2 cleaner shrimp
2 nassarius snails

JR: What does scraping the glass do? Does that feed the corals?

I too use Reef Nutrition's Phytofeast. It's much better than the kent stuff and it terns your leathers green! BTW, watch out for the dosing. That stuff is potent!

I use Zoomax also and I love it. I have been dosing my tank for almost a year with this stuff and my coral grows faster than my friend who uses phytomax.
