What tool to use to cut acrylic?

I'm making an overflow weir and have not found the right tool to do the job. It would be imposible to use a cutting knife. Would a jig saw work?

You really need to use a table saw or router if you plan on sealing something water tight without a super sloppy seam or a ton of added work after you cut it basically to shape.

If you are GOOD with a skilsaw, ive seen it done.

make sure your table is long enough to use the guide....i needed 13.5 and my table only supported 13, and let me tell you, straight pieces are a hell of a lot eaiser to use then curved ones....

anyways just be safe, it only takes a mili second to loose a digit...

I need to cut out pieces for the overflow weir

A flat weir is actually better for skimming off the surface layer of water where ~70% of proteins concentrate. you don't need teeth on an overflow.
