What type of fish is this?

I am uncertain of the species of this fish. He is very active and eats like a pig. A buddy of mine got it while he was in panama city. I cant seem to get a good picture, but i tried to attach one to this, he is blue with green stripes going down and yellow stripes going sideways. He has a black dot around his tail area.

Some kind of grouper? You have got to get a better picture. He is just an orange blob.

i identified this awhile back but just to let everyone know

it was a RED SNAPPER!

Back in the day I realized this might be a "harlequin tusk wrasse" but I couldn't find the thread to post my findings. I guess it would have been wrong anyway. I just find it hard to be a red snapper...which I have caught on a rod and reel several times.

it does look kind of like a tusk wrasse- T.S. Ive caught snapper in Australia numerous times and they looked nothing like that. They sure are tasty fish. had to say it! but im sure you are spoiled living in Florida.

For the big snapper you have to go a few miles out, but you can find juveniles around the wrecks close to shore. They do have that defined black spot, so I guess a snapper makes sense. They sure are tasty is right. My favorites are snook and pompano though.
