I am uncertain of the species of this fish. He is very active and eats like a pig. A buddy of mine got it while he was in panama city. I cant seem to get a good picture, but i tried to attach one to this, he is blue with green stripes going down and yellow stripes going sideways. He has a black dot around his tail area.

Back in the day I realized this might be a "harlequin tusk wrasse" but I couldn't find the thread to post my findings. I guess it would have been wrong anyway. I just find it hard to be a red snapper...which I have caught on a rod and reel several times.

it does look kind of like a tusk wrasse- T.S. Ive caught snapper in Australia numerous times and they looked nothing like that. They sure are tasty fish. :D had to say it! but im sure you are spoiled living in Florida. :D

For the big snapper you have to go a few miles out, but you can find juveniles around the wrecks close to shore. They do have that defined black spot, so I guess a snapper makes sense. They sure are tasty is right. My favorites are snook and pompano though.
