what type of pump

I am looking for a return pump for a 220 with a sump in basment. I am thinking of going with a reflow hammerhead pump, but I am worried that it might be to much flow. The pump will run a chiller,two brs reactors,and a calcium reactor feed.

That would be perfect to run all that , just use a ball valve off each return pipe or hose to get the desired flow return you need to each place.

If you are gonna put the sump under the tank then ATB Flowstar return pumps can't be beat. They can also be throttled back with a ball valve on the return with no worry of pump damage.

Disagree - for this size tank.

OP is considering large external pumps like the Hammerhead, rated at 5550 gph - mags have nothing that come even close.

The only thing I know that is close is a Dolphin 5600 - which has higher head pressure rating, but also consumes more power...
