hi i dont normally post but i have a juewl trigon with a high water flow. the problem is that when i first set up the tank someone gave me a seahorse with a load of live rock. i always turn the powerheads of when feeding to make sure the seahorse gets enough food but its not really fair on the seahorse because he has trouble swimming about. so i want to set up another tank for him so what i need to know is what type of seahorse it is and whats the smallest tank i can use in litres and gallons

any help would be great

I would say a 24-30 gallon is the minimum gallon. About 3-5 gallons maybe if it is dwarf seahorses, but those can be hard to keep. I would go with something around 20-30 gallons for a minimum sized tank. Make the flow around 7-10x turnover I think it is, seahorse need very little flow. Don't put in any fast aggresive eaters in with the seahorses, things like gobies/firefish are good choices if you want to put other things in there.

Looks like a reidi but need a better shot to be sure.

You need to get it out of that tank for sure. I would say a minimum of 30 gal for the one seahorse.

The smallest tank I would consider is a 20 gal/75 litres. Larger would be better, but 20 gal/75 litres is workable if you keep water quality high.

I agree that it looks like a reidi but its a bit hard to tell with that shot.

20g is the smallist I would go. Anything smaller isn't going to have the height this guy needs and keeping the water quality would be hard. Something like a 20 high would be nice to give him the vertical swimming room seahorses like.
