hey guys i have a 180 gal reef tank it is my first saltwater tank. i got it complete and up and running. i got it from some one as is so i dontknow what everything is in the tank exactly i am working on learning what it all is. i have 2 clown fish 1 tang and 2 pjs. and one long black spiny sea urchin. the rest is assorted coral some lethers, sponges mushrooms at least i think so. anyway i am looking for things to add that will help clean the tank. i know theres lots out there i dont even know where to begin. algae isnt a problem yet but it seems to be slowly getting worse. so somthing that can help there would be good. i was considering some shrimp but again i have no idea where to start heres some pictures shortly after move still kinda cloudy but it looks pretty good now

check out reefcleaners.org and check out the custom cleanup crews tab. But as other people here will tell you, clean up crews are only a band aid when it comes to algae. Keep up with water changes, clean your skimmer neck often, use macro algae, install gfo reactor and read read read! Good luck

Ok thanks allot I know it's me that has to do the real cleaning but as far as I know there is no clean up crew in the tank. Plus I think some of the shrimp are kinda cool. If they won't eat any of the coral thanks for info

Tangs are great for cleaning up the algae mess, better than some snails.
So you're off to a good start. Depending on what you want cleaned, there's a large variety, as someone mentioned above. Reference the site and it should explain in great detail. Goodluck.

I guess the issue I'm having is because I'm new to this hobby is that I'm not sure what typ of algae I have growing. It takes about a week for it to be appearNt on the glass enough to where I scrape it off.
