i have a 15G nano.
will be sps tank
150W HQI
25lbs liverock.
maxjet 1200 for return
maxjet 900 for flow
and i'm planning put a turbo flotor T1000 on it.
dont want to spend more money for others skimmer.
just wondering will that be ok?
thx

You'll have to empty the skimmer cup more often, and topoff more often.

Not a problem.............

You could make the tank bare bottom , that will help a lot in the reduction of nutrients, ideal for sps. ( if you plan to use a small skimmer )

it's BB. i cant put sand into it since it was an acrylic tank.
ok. then i will set the skimmer up.
thx for all the input everyone.

Just dont use magnets that sink. That should take care of your acrlyic getting scratched. IMO i would think about going with a coralife Super skimmer 65. bigals have them for like 80 shipped or something like that. I just finished shopping for a new skimmer and was thinking of going with a turbofloater, but after reading reviews and whatnot I found that the CSS is soo much better.. im using the 125 and its amazing.. Its in a rubbermaid with just liverock right now, and its pulled out a gallon of gunk out of my tank. It already comes with a hole so that you can have the collection cup empty on its own. Im loving this thing

I dont think you will over skim a tank. IF you see what are my plans for a 10g hex you will se there is not such thing as over filtering a tank.

The sistem will consist on 3 tank. The display tank( 10g Hex Tank), a sump( 10g tank), and a Fuge ( 20g long tank)

For filter I will have 10# of LR on the main display and 5-10# of rubber on the fuge. In the sump I gonna put a Corallife Skimmer 125. That a skimmer for a tank more than 10 time the size. The fuge will be divided in 5 areas. The first one were the water come from the sump I will keep the rubber, the I will try to keep the Mermaid's Fans or Red mangrove, on the third one SHaving Brush, fourth one Caulerpa, Last one were the water will go from gravity to the main display I will keep the chaeto were more pods grow and will feed teh tank. Also the fuge will have a 4" DSB.

I deside to do a fuge like this separeted in case that I have a problem with one of the macro and plant it will be easy to work with it, specially with the chaeto and the caulerpa.

the css is rad pulled out some nasty stuff in my 15 gal sps. im using one in my brothers 36 gal mantis tank because i liked it soo much.
