What will they eat?

Will clams only eat phytoplankton, or are there other things?

some people use koral vit f also it yeast based IMO dt,s is best,but im looking in to phycopure

I guess anything of the corect micron size...I used to feed Dts but I culture my own phyto now, the cost difference is amazingly lower than Dt's.

Let me know when or if you will make a meeting and Ill bring you a bottle of my Home Brewed Phyto....

Thanks Scuba dog, I haven't been able to attend a meeting yet, I had back surgery, and am just starting to get around again. I have to get some phyto soon, but there is nothing in j-boro, When is the next meeting and where. Thanks

Ill have to go back and do some reading to get the correct micron size, sorry cant remember numbers all that well lol. If you have a high fish load and feed your fish a bunch the clams can filter some of that food and fish waste out as well.

The march meeting has allready come and gone, not sure where or when the April meeting is, odds are I will not be able to attend the april meeting since ill be tied up for three weekends that month....But you can purchase some Dts on line or in Little Rock, im not sure if memphis carrys the stuff or not....its usually for sale on ebay as well live home cultured phyto....

its pretty easy to culture and super cheap, if you get in a pinch ill mail you some...the only thing is Im not sure how well the stuff ships and how long it will last in warm weather...
