That sounds right.
Why is this? Does not make sense to me. Advise?
To make this simple I would look at it as being an ocellaris clownfish with a unique pigment. Therefore you will most likely get more regular ocellaris clownfish from their spawns then the actual unique pigment the parents have.
from what ive read noone else is having any luck.
c-quest for example. since they moved they havent had any luck. from their website "NOTE: C-Quest has Moved its Location, and has not fully ramped up production on this strain. They have not shipped since 2010, so dont be fooled by some stores claiming to have Original C-Quest whites. SR is taking down names, and keeping a waiting list, so when they DO begin shipping again, you will be notified."
And these arent exactly flooding the market if you know what i mean
Ya you wont be able to tell what they are going to really look like for atleast 4months post hatch sometimes even up to a year.
You will get a mixture of reg, ww, Picasso, and misbars.
4mts sound like very long time. I seen some babys that are 1mth old and have full color. Hope dont take as long as you say. Thanks.
Check out percs and how long they take to develop their full colors. Its not a month. I just saw 4 month old rods onyx and they had no black at all.
Ocellaris show their colors and bars much quicker. I can tell by the second week which fish are snowflakes and which are regular ocellaris.
