Finally have my tank finished. Scroll down for specs. Before purchasing this tank I purchased a mapp puffer. He is great, and the smartest fish I have ever seen. He has also grown alot, and at the current time is about 9" long. I moved him into my fug while I stocked the rest of my tank. I now have a tusk, dragon wrasse, emp angel, porcupine puffer, and a damsel. The are all about 3" long. They all get along great. This evening I took the mapp puffer out of the fug and put him into the 300. All of the fish took note of him and kept they're distance except the porcupine. He doesn't seem to care about the mapp puffer. So much so that I am afraid for him. The mapp has lunged at him and the porcupine doesn't even move. Each time he goes for him, I intervene and they both back off. I guess my question is, should I remove the porc? I realize that puffer fish are curious, and that maybe the mapp is just nibbling, but I don't know. I do know that when he bites, he bites hard. I have never seen a fish(porc) that is so oblivious! I am serously ready to give up. Any ideas or experience with this?

My porc and my stars and stripes, my porc was about 2in smaller and would pal around with the stars and stripes, but as soon as food went in one day the stars bit him very hard. Lets just say he put the little porc in his place and now when its feeding time he is still hovering around the stars but its like a big bro little bro situation. My puffers would just put eachother in place and as soon as that bite started it was over and there wasnt anymore situations of them fighting. I say just give it some time.

thanx bottlecapp, did the bite that was inflicted require you to medicate? My mapp is just so big, it seems like certain death
