What would YOU put in a 65g RR?

My 65g will be here this week and I am starting to think about stocking options. The tank is 36x18x24 and will be a mixed reef.

Blue or interesting green haddoni with a pair of picassos. Been into naked clowns lately too. That'd be a nice contrast to a green haddoni

I have a pair of Clowns in my 14g BioCube, so I was thinking something alittle different for the 65g. Do you think a smaller Tang would do well?

Here is my stock list for my 65g, tangs are not really suited for 3' tanks long term.

chalk bass
2 blk. oc. clowns
yellow-banded possum wrasse
yellow and purple wrasse (Halichoeres leucoxanthus)
melanurus wrasse
cherub pygmy angel (C. argi)
yasha goby

I have a 58, same foot print, just not as tall.

I have a pair of pink skunks (( hosted by a blue Haddoni, they ignore the green one ))
a golden lawnmower blenny,
Potter's dwarf angel, and
Multicolored dwarf angel.

I've kept various types of flasher wrasses, yellow shrimp gobies, dwarf angels, purple firefish, and both yellow and green coral gobies in my 65 over the years. The flashers are beautiful fish, especially if you can keep a school of them, same with the purple firefish. The clown gobies are particularly neat in a mixed reef, as they will perch in branches of SPS or LPS corals - they are said to graze some on SPS polyps however, so be aware of that. Personally I've never had any issue with the grazing.

I'd go with some anthias and maybe some flasher wrasses as suggested. I think a few smaller anthias would be fine in a 65.

I personally really like Flame, Flameback, Potters. But there are tons of varieties of different colors in all price ranges. Great genus of fish!

The multicolor and lemonpeel have both caught my eye. How do these guys do with more then one in the tank?

I wouldn't trust a lemonpeel in a reef tank -- I tried it in the past and nipped at all my SPS and zoas.

My multicolored and potter's get along just fine -- pretty much just ignore each other and haven't nipped at anything.

It can be tricky on smaller aquariums. I have had luck adding more at one time, but you may want to wait until your tank is well established. Lots of live rock and hiding spaces help. You can also parition off your tank, to allow them to see each other, then when they are used to it, remove the barrier. I imagine someone else can help here also, my display is 250 gallons so it is much different for me.

Most centropyge at some point will nip at sps. I have never seen them do serious damage, however this is very debatable.
