Im new to the SW world but have had FW forever and than a couple. With that being said, Im starting a new 20g long mini reef. However, Im going to name it the barrier reef because im just going to be on the barrier of being poor afterwards lol jk. Anyway to the point. Its a 20 long and Im going to have 130 watts of PC lighting. For the substrate I will be using Aragonite (already have a 30# bag of it) and a 150 watt heater. I have a bag of red sea salt already as well. I have thought about building a sump here and there but all of my friends who work with me (big lfs) say that it wont really be necessary in a tank like that. I just want to do whats best. If I did the sump I think I would make it a 10g with a fuge in the 2nd half of it. I dont know as of right now though. If a canister filter would work I really would not mind doing that. I have also heard of using a few AC HOB filters and putting some ls and rock in there.
