They look like shiny nuclear gummy chummy extreme neon death, nuggets.. !!! Never got into these new names..I would call them greenish zoas... If you like them than 25 is fine

i think tops $10 i feel jacked. i will confront the owner of the shop and let him know they are not LAKERS ZOA or whatever he said. now i know he just made it up to make a sale. sad because i had faith in the dude.

If you already bought them, you must have felt the price was right. No need to question it now. That's a retail store; there will always be a mark up. If you like them and they look good in your tank, let that be enough. IMO
They're beautiful, btw.

thats the problem though. under metal halides they look nothing like they did under his blue LED, so to be honest i feel a little misled. i wont say anything but he lost my trust. the fact that he called them laker zoas is what really bothers me because it seems to me that he made that up. anyways you live and you learn. i wont trust the guy ever again.

A little colony like that would probably go for about $10-$20 around my parts. I'm not sure what those green ones are, but those orange ones might be Fire & Ice.

I understand. Your set up is different so they don't pop as much as they did in the store.
Lighting aside, they do look like what another site calls Laker Zoas: http://www.atlantisaquarium.net/products/la-lakers-zoa
It looks like you got what you paid for.

yeah what i got looks nothing like those, but thanks. he did hook me up with a nice SPS colony for $60 so i will get over it. i will stick to buying SPS colonies.

p.s. i do have actinic and moonlight, and trust me, they aren't laker zoas. its cool though i need to learn not to buy on impulse.

all coral names are made up, why is a name the only thing to give a coral value, it is worth what you are willing to pay for it.

thats not the point, being lied to is not ok. i learned my lesson and the name doesn't matter, what does matter is that the look matches the made up name. either way im not buying from that guy again.

why do you feel lied to? Because they look different in his tank than yours? When you knew the lighting was different?

You must always have a LFS put a 10-12k light over a coral. I agree with the original poster. These fish store don't care to a degree. Ive seen stores asking 300+ for orange octocoral, turn the blues off and its generic octocoral that shouldn't be over 50 bucks. Then they still stand by there claims it was sold to me as orange so its orange lol. It ****es me off that I know someone else will get taken advantage of!
