What's a tank worth

I'm wondering what this tank is worth it's a marineland cube that is 150 gallons with a black pine stand and canopy I is a year old tank has no scratches the stand and canopy has normal wear.

Find out what the retail is on it and knock off about 60-70%. That should give you a decent ball park.

I am sure based on age you would hope to get a good amount of resale value; but the market is crappy right now and the economy is junk.....not good time to sell a luxury item, but sure good time to buy one. With most anything of resale markets its not alwAys what it is worth, but what somebody will pay.......

I'd say a top of the line tank like a Reef Savvy/DSA/AGE will bring about 60-70% orig value, where as a GC tank will only bring 40-50% of orig value...that tank, probably 50% of retail is a fair value.

It depends on If you have a buyer that wants that particular tank, Then you may recoup more of your money. If not It can get as bad as only 10% of what the original cost was, And I speak from Experiance.
Watch out for the ones that want to give you nothing for it as they will turn around and sell it on e@@@ at a profit if they are prepared to sit on it for a while. JMHO

I figure for the tub and stand along with canopy 500-600 shouldn't be bad Also being that it has the starphire glass.

Now my next question is how is the quality of GC tanks ive heard both sides but seem more neg stuff. I've always been told you get what you pay for I was looking at a tank at GC then asked for a quote from reef savvy and there is like 1400 difference I was looking at the 240 long from GC

Was part of that 1400 difference shipping included, shipping a tank like that is WAY expensive. I've seen good and bad from GC...and I've seen a couple Excellent from RS, and haven't heard anything bad only praise... What really turned me away from GC was the online and phone customer service when getting quotes for a tank. I'd say that Marineland is a pretty good deal at that price.

That was including shipping. Didn't think if it like that so it's really probably not that much more it's just the shipping isn't added with GC being I live 45 min from there. That's what I was figuring with the cube so I wasn't to bad off with what I'm asking for it if I decide to sell. Now the hard part would be to find a buyer in this bad economy like it was said above.

I will take 550 for it and if you want I will throw in about 100pounds of dry rock for total of 600

Here is what it looks like

Let me tell you guys, its bad, too. He's been walking around the office today and associating everything with reef-related items. We start talking about Team World Wide shipping company, and he instantly says "World Wide Corals". There were others, but I can't remember them.
