whats goin on here?

i have a pair of small false perculas and one GBTA. during the day sometimes the anemone will close up for a long time. but at night time it gets very big. also one of my clowns doesn't let the other one rub in the anemone except at night when they sleep. is there a reason that the one clown only lets the other one sleep in the anemone and not play in it during the day. i dont know which one is male or female yet. any help appreciated. thanks william.

The female is (or will be) the one who gets the anemone. Pretty normal dominance behavior. The dominant fish is just letting the other one know who's the boss. As for the BTA closing up during the day I'm not sure but lighting is the first thing that comes to mind.

Since my pair of GSM clowns started breeding, my female hardly ever goes to the anemone but only at night. Its plenty big enough for both but the male is usually the only one in there. She spends most of her day hanging aroudn the caves or playing with the sand!
