Hmmm. Looks like some kinda chemical warfare taking place. Unless its a spawning event?

Id try to blow it away with a turkey baster and catch it in a net and clean it outa there.

Chemical warfare. Blow the stuff off, look for tissue loss. If you see it start, frag that whole thing up cause it's probably toast. It'll loose all tissue in the coarse of a day. Sorry to say but good luck

And i'm going to bet that the birds nest is the one under attack. Blow with turkey baster, wait to see some tissue loss then frag up that colony
