What's going on with my Euphylia?

Hi there!

I just got home from the country side - we left yesterday - and found this:

euph.jpg

Phosphates: <1
Nitrates: 15-20 (don't know how they got that high!).
pH: 8
nitrites: 0
salt: 1.025

Is this the brown jelly sickness?
I'm gonna put in some coal and do a 20% water change.
I haven't put in any critters since a few months. I got a new acropora about 1 week ago.

Anything else?

From the picture you attached, I cant tell. I have attached a nice blurry pic of an alviapora that I had that came down with the disease to give you a good idea what it looks like. If a coral has the disease, the tissue basically disolves.

How long have you had the coral? I have had both an alviapora and a frogspawn with the disease. Both corals I got soon after the LFS received it from the wholesaler. So if you have had the coral for a while, or have not intruduced a new organism to the tank, then it might not be that disease.

Is the brown stuff stringing from near a mouth? It could be, for lack of better words, be pooping.

If there is dead tissue, then it could be brown jelly, but for now it looks like it is just expelling waste.

I didn't know that euphylias also poop. I hope it's pooping, because its really got me worried!

I've attached another picture:

From that second pic it looks like its coming out of its orifice. The 2 times I saw the disease, it worked its way from one end of the base to the other, it never started from the center. Not to saw it cant, I just never saw it.

I think you will be in good shape. Maybe you should get it some diapers...

Ahhhh, that's great news!!!
I was really worried because of this, never seen it before on my euph..

Thanks for the help guys!
