What's going On

Ok so I had a little problem with phosphates. Turns out LFS water has abit in them and after using their water for 7 months I started to have abit of a algae problem. Diatoms on the glass and abit of a green slime .
Tank parameters are.
Ammonia-0
Nitrites-0
Nitrates- 5-10
ph-8.1-8.3
Alk -9
salinity -1.026
I have 2 fish in the tank. I dont over feed as My mandarin eats only pods and the clown gets fed 1 pellet at a time until he is done. All my corals were doing ok but the torch. I noticed the Torch was not doing so well with the high phosphates. Other Corals are Mushroom,Xenia,Toadstool,Polyps.
The Tentacles on the torch were always down they were not limp but were always hanging low. So to battle my phosphates I got a reactor the Two little fishes 150. Did everything properly to set it up and what not. I was aware that my ph could go off so I was ready for that with some buffer. After hooking up to the tank everything seemed really good in no time at all. The Torch coral was all perked up. I checked the ph and it did not really move. The problem is my xenia coral is all shrivelled up. It is like 1/3 the size now and does not look good. Everything else is fine.
What Happened ?

A blessing in disguise happened and maybe the xenia won't inhabit the entire tank. Sadly it will probably rebound. Xenia is perfectly happy in dirtier water and will recover. Be careful with it, it can grow to plague proportions easily.

Are they that bad?
I like the look but I am ready to take the chompers to it if it gets outa hand.

I hooked GFO up to my system, and within a week all of the xenia in my tank completely melted, never to be seen again. I was happy, because I had been scraping it off of rocks for months trying to get rid of it. On the down side a toad stool stopped expandingg its polyps, and a pipe organ also did the same. I ended up selling those pieces and they did fine. I have heard a drastic change in Phosphate levels can cause this, and it is recommended to start slowly with GFO.
