What is that stuff? It's fuzzy looking when open (towards the night it seems), and then sucks back in during the day. Anything to worry about?

Thanks!

Looks like a cluster of small aptasia. See if you cover it with a slurry of kalk paste to remove and destroy.:uzi:

thats a caulastrea homie. Probably a sponge or something. Weird stuff grows on the skeleton of all my branching stuff

[/IMG] this is a torch and if you notice where the flesh meets skeleton i have a grey sponge like thing encroaching. Trippy huh

Wow, I meant to put trumpet (same thing right?) ... I feel really dumb right now. I was looking at torch pictures before I posted! :D

I was thinking it was a sponge, but I wasn't 100% sure. Definitely not aiptasia, that much I know.

Thanks for the help guys!

To answer the what light am I using, 48" TekLite Elite T5 4 bulb. Giesemann bulbs, 2 Actinic+ (sunrise/set) , Pure Actinic and a Midday.

How about giving some pointers to me then if the coral isn't looking good. I bought the coral like this from the LFS. It sits towards the middle of the tank, in a moderate flow area.

Also, why do you say it doesn't look good? The heads that are white?

Mine seems to prefer a lower flow area with nothing hitting it directly. Lighting is fine so I would try a bit lower flow and check your water parameters and make sure your calcuim is good and the other parameters are not elevated.
