Whats growing ?

My tank has been cycled for several days. This is the first sign of anything growing. Is it and is it good or bad? No livestock yet.

The spots are a yellowish-gold in color. Did a water change today and will do water tests tomorrow. Just need to know what it is and what water parameters might be causing it.

Just some algae, itll go away in a few weeks.

That is "diatoms"..
A totally normal part of a new tank..
As stated it will go away on its own usually after a few weeks or so..

Well the algae is still growing. Its getting worse and is
now on the sand and starting on the glass. Should I
still wait it out? Its been cycled a couple weeks.
Tank tests show:
Ammonia ................. 0
Nitrite ..................... 0
Nitrate .................... 18
pH ......................... 8.3
kH ......................... 6.5
Phos ...................... .04
Salinity .................. 1.023
Will be doing a water change in a couple days.
I still haven't added any stock (hopefully this weekend).
I just don't want to get things out of control.

I'm going on 3 months and still have brown/green algae on rocks and glass.
the green algae was a breeze to clean on the glass but nows it's the harder tiny spots,
tough stuff.

I have low iron glass so weary of razor blade and scratches

Conches are awesome. Cerith and Marguerita are ok too.

As stated the diatoms will bloom then die. Nothing to worry about.

Don't worry about the algae/diatoms. They're going to grow at this point, pretty much no matter what you do. Just let it run its course. Get your cleanup crew this weekend and let them do what they do best. We have all gone through this part.

It's the uglies, but it will pass. Give it time. Everything else seems great, so don't change a thing. Looking good so far.

Just diatoms as everyone says. This is part of the process with a new tank. Could take months to completely disappear. Then the hair algae will come, then the coralline algae. It's best to just let it run it's course and control nitrates and phosphates through regular water changes. Don't use any kind of chemical algae remover. Eventually the coralline will grow on the glass and you will have no choice but to scrape the glass. I have never scratched my glass with a scraper. It's always the magnetic cleaner picking up sand.
