Yes, on the left. Thanx. I should of been more specific, my bust. I'm asking about the stuff on the right. It's very hard to razorblade whatever it is...
On my teardrop IÃ"šÃ‚´ve got hair algae, a mushroom polyp (need to get rid of this one quick!) some unidentified zooanthids, sponges, coralline algae, thatÃ"šÃ‚´s what I can see...who knows what else is on there!
Did this just happen? If not, mbbuna is right (mostly). They're (there?) aptaisia. Anyway, they look like aptaisia. Joe's Juice will get them. Use a syringe. They don't usually duck away from Joe's Juice, but are quick to recoil from most other touches (the syringe for example). Emphatic agreement on NOT using physical methods.
Ok, that's not good. How in the world could I possibly treat it without getting it on the clam? Will this stuff spread to the rest of the tank. If I have to I'll get rid of the clam. What about taking it out and scraping it off? This sucks...
just put a little dab of joe's on the aptasia, but first turn all of ur pumps off. the reason udont want to scrape them off is that it only take's one cell to grow a new aptasia so scraping them would produce ton's. and the shrimp might eat them or could pic at ur clam
I agree. It doesn't take a lot of joe's juice and if the pumps are off it should stay put. It works very fast (in minutes) Problem is that you probably have aiptasia all over since they are pretty prolific. Peppermints usually eat them, but after they got to be a certain size, my peppermints ignored them. Also, I don't know if shrimp will bother your clam...
