What's in your fish medication cabinet?

^^
That's a pretty good arsenal.

Ok so I have revise my list and even though some of them may have shelf life. If I get a year out of them it's worth it as it's not expensive and good insurance. Let me know what you guys think.

Treatment:

Parasites- fresh water for bath/dip and hypo, cupramine

Fin and tail rot, pop eye, fungus- Virbac Maracyn Medication *should I get Maracyn 2 as well though it's only available for fresh water, but from what I've read it's the same as for saltwater just minus the B vitamin.

Anti bacteria neg and pos gram- Furan-2

Body fungus - Methylene Blue

Question does anybody know what the shelf life of Maracyn and Furan and does shelf life starts when the seal is broken or it doesn't matter? Also am I doubling up on something here where I can shorten the list or missing something?

BTW

mrsribbled- nice selection in fish, we have similar taste in fish.

Maracyn comes in packets (unless your talking about Maracyn+) and their expiration date is on each packet and on the box they come in with it usually being at tops 1 year (sometimes it can be as little as 1 month till expiration in emergency cases where you can't wait for your favorite lfs/online to order and get it in)

In terms of Nitrofurazone (Furan) based medications, as far as I know "don't quote me on this" they last up to 2 years+ (not sure about any other medication additives that may be found in conjunction/mixed in though)

Also I don't recall Furan-2/Bi Furan curing Gram Positive diseases, but I could be incorrect again (same thing don't quote me on it!) so it would be wise to get a different type that for sure is gram positive like regular Maracyn (which you apparently have)

In terms of it being worth it to get maracyn 2 or not (freshwater variant)
It's very much so, since its a rather gentle medication IME/IMO to most any fishes and is easily mixed in with Prazipro or Cupramine Treatments.
I do advise buying/finding the saltwater kind since you will save money on it (24pk FW cost the same as 16 pk SW) and with the FW kind you have to dose 2x the amount and you don't get any free Vitamin B complex.
If it becomes too difficult to find, make friends with an LFS and offer a deposit on some with your number and they "should" call you back when they order or have it available.
