i feel a little silly. here i am with beer in hand sittin on my couch with a smile ear to ear watching my new tank fill up with ro water. my roommate comes walking in and says "man, thats exciting." then i said "yeah, its kinda like watching grass grow, but way more action packed." i dont know who else has done this before, but i could totally waste my entire night just watching my new 150 slowly fill up with water (well not really a waste of night). waiting for just the right level when you can throw a pump in. just to see the sand move. man i feel a little lame :sad1:

thanks man! i am super excited! well actually i am transferring over my corals, or whats left of them since my move, from my 120. i had a serious tank melt down when i moved, and i think i am only going to have captive raised fish and captive raised corals. i feel i have too much wild blood on my hands since i lost all of my fish. it will be a mostly sps tank though, with a few lps on the sand.

I have no fish in my tank and I spend hours each night fiddling with it. Granted I have corals and such, but try telling that to other people that just wonder what the hell I am looking at in a an "empty" tank each night. :)

Wouldn't have it any other way.

Oh and have you ever watched your new skimmer for like an hour, that makes for a fun night too. No - really it does.

Love it! Been there done that! Probably gonna take more than just the night!
I got so anxious waiting for my 210 to fill that I drove 50 miles to the LFS and bought 3 large trash cans of R/O water just to expidite the process.
Then the real waiting started, I spent weeks looking at a whole lot of nothing. Good times, good times indeed!

ha, i am about to buy a new swc 300a, so i am sure that i will be spending many hours just staring at it.

it was just a wake up call. people without tanks really just dont get how you can sit there and stare at "nothing" happening for hours on end. but I LOVE IT!

It's like when you order a new coral online then wait/lookin out the window for the fedex guy to show up is he here yet.Like a kid on christmas morning...

- ES1887 - Your going to love your new SWC skimmer. My tank is not that big so I got the 120 but it is best and easyest skimmer I have ever owned.

Good stuff.

I got you beat. Not only have I watched as my tank slowly filled up with RO/DI, but just last night, my whole family and I stood on the deck as the sun set watching our 500 gallon hot tub SLOWLY fill with water from the hose. Not RO/DI slow, but we stood there for a good two hours just watching the boring action.

When we first got our front loader washing machine, all of use were camped out in front of it watching the magical act of clothes washing as it spun and watered and spun the other way and watered and spun...for a good 45 minute cycle - ooohing and ahhhing.
