What's next?

Ammonia was around .50ppm after first day and roughly .25ppm the last two days. 0 Nitrites/Nitrates. But the purple thing in the picture below has been getting brighter over the past two days, leading me to believe he is doing well? I used 50lbs of live sand to start. And a 3lb live rock that was from a LFS display tank, so it was nice and cured. I added fish flakes 1.5 days ago to see if it would jumpstart the cycle. No increase in ammonia has happened after the initial .50ppm. I guess I just wait for an increase in Ammonia?

The way I cycle is to just fill it up with salt water/rock/sand, turn on the pumps and heaters and forget about it for 1 month..
Don't rush..
