Whats safer? PVC or Vinyl?

My tank is sitting on my brand new wood floor next to my brand new living room carpet. I'm wondering what is the safest way to plumb it? I currently just have flex PVC coming from the drain and vinyl hose from my pump to the return. I have both metal and plastic clamps on my drain and return.

I'm adding a fuge next to my sump and phos reactor and was going to drive both of those with a second small pump (Eheim 1048) with vinyl. A Eheim 1260 is my reuturn pump and I'm splitting it between 2 outlets in my tank.

I'm stayed away from PVC because I just don't like the idea of gluing things, especially to my bulkheads. Guess I'm a tinkerer at heart and it seems so inflexible. Am I risking a flood by avoiding PVC?

Vinyl tubing is just fine. The only problem is that the tubing can collapse or kink, restricting the flow. You can get the reinforced vinyl tubing that resists kinking. Although it cost more than PVC.
