not an open topped Via Aqua 418! because chemicals may get into the tank! try a 20 gal plexi with at least 3 inches of sand, a medium sized piece of live rock and let him try a 1 1/2" diameter tube of black pvc pipe to hide in. for a filter... thats up to you, perhaps a millenium 2000 or an emperor 280. the millenium is way cheaper but the emperor is a great filter for any small set up.
