Ok like the title says. What's the best way to remove a fish from my tank with out taking the whole tank apart? I need to get this purple tang out. Thing is is that my aquascape is a bunch of rocks but glued together so can't really pull that out with out breaking all my SPS in pieces.

Any ideas would be great.

Fish trap and patience. Get the biggest trap you can fit. It's basically an acrylic box with a trap door. Feed in they trap so all fish get comfortable goin in and then drop the door when you've got him. Some fish are harder to get than others. Tangs are such aggressive waters they are usually easy.

Without a fish trap, what I've done is use pieces of egg crate to create corrals and slowly make the space smaller for them. Takes a lot of patience though. Sorry, I don't have a fish trap

Anyone interested in a purple tang once I get him out lol. I've had him for at least a year and a half super healthy and big. He eats everything I throw in the tank.

Im telling you for a smaller system just drain water reach in pull out .....will only take mins and no trying this or that that may or may not work... if its small system this is the best way and done in 30 min

Diy fish trap and a 5g bucket to hold all other fish that were dumb enough to go in till you get him out! It's always worked for me and fast. No need to go stirring up anything in your tank trying to empty it abs fill it.

I have some containers if you need to borrow. .....just like doing a waterchange drain it and refill it ......

Ok I've got a big brute container and 5g buckets. Will do this on Friday so if anyone is interested in him let me know. Super healthy and strong.
