This is probably not the right forum since it is a wrasse and not a clownfish. You might have better luck posting the question in another area.
I could not find any real difference. It looks like one was discovered in 2007 (W. tanakai) and the other was discovered in 1954. They both are recognized by fishbase.org as accepted terms, but there wasn't anything I could see that said they were actually the same fish with different names. Both seem to originate in the Indonesia area. I guess it all depends on what the wholeseller decides to call it.
