Whats the diffrence weldon 3 or weldon 40 ?

Weld-On 3 is water thin. It is easily applied to acrylic joints, aka plexiglas, with a hypodermic needle. I use the 25 gauge needles. I think the higher the number, the thicker the substance. I may be wrong on that though.

Weld-On 16 is thicker than Weld-On3, but 40 is a two part mix.

And the higher the number doesn't necessarily mean thicker. In some areas it does but it isn't a rule for the numbering system for WO.

I need to glue acrylic to acrylic, and acrylic to pvc, is weldon 16 ok? for both? or weldon 40, or use weldon 3 for acrylic and weldon 40 for acrylic to pvc. I want the best glue for acrylic to acrylic and acrylic to pvc.

I'd use 40 for Acrylic to pvc and Weldon 4 for Acrylic to acrylic.. Weldon 3 dries really fast.. If you have never used weldon 4 would be much better.

Weldon 3 and 4 are solvents not glues. 16 is a glue and 40 is both. 40 works best with pvc, 16 bubbles and makes poor joints.

You really aren't going to notice a difference between the 3 and 4.

One dries a TAD bit faster than the other. I hear that some people prefer the 4 when they are in higher altitude because it dries faster.

I have both and really can't tell the difference.

EDIT: ask Calvin, He is in Colorado and prefers one over the other! I may I have which on dries faster mixed up!
