What's the most important thing?

upon initial reading of this thread I would say humidity has to be a potential problem to plan for in the future depending on what size tank you are going with

gotta think ahead on that one, dont want mold growing on the walls now, ...

With out question an auto top off is a must. Then a solid RO/DI water storage-mixing system is real important to make water changes easy not a pain. The more automation the better, but then you have to worry about all the 'what if this happened to this,' how would that impact the system. A leak on a 300 gal. tank can be a real bad thing. So that comes back to planning and knowledge.

Don't skimp on your skimmer!!! It is your main piece of filtration besides your rock! Other than that, a boat load of a money and an understanding girl that loves the hobby as much as you:)

lots of good input....i would say choose your religion and stick withit....to many people try to mix religions and lots of problems...research the different methods of reef keeping and choose one that fits with your lifestyle and than start pulling from your retirement fund...lol
Good Luck....RC is a great place to meet fellow addicts...

mm949 I was wondering are all of those tanks connected in some way? And do you have a pitcure of the lookdown tank, those are very cool.
