i have a 1 week old aprox 5" RBTA which my female (2.75") and male (1.25") maroons host. i want the RBTA to grow alittle bit more pretty quick to accomodate them both more comforatbly. for past week i fed a silverside, 1 on mon and thurs. can u feed every other day to promote growth or is twice a week more than enough?

Every other day will work--you'll find it will grow VERY fast with this regimen. Just make sure everything can handle the extra feeding load.

I have had much better luck with feeding raw shrimp and I think much healthier for the anemone. Not large chunks, cut up small enough that you can siphon it out of a container and shoot it into the anemone. I also feed Rod's food.

I feed Rod's food and silversides. Raw shrimp, krill and mysis shrimp also works, I just don't use them very often. But do love the looks I get at Jewel when I ask for one or two raw shrimp! I feed chunks no bigger than it's mouth.

Every other day will be fine. Much more than that will cause the anemone to shrink down and expell waste too often which will tick off the Maroons. If your Maroons become abusive to the anemone at any point, cover the anemone with a stawberry basket to allow it to heal and grow.

I feed every day to every other day, depending on how lazy I'm feeling on the week. Minimum 4 maximum 7 times per week. I do tend to overfeed, though. My anem went from 1-2" up to over 7" in about three months.

I've heard sivlersides' bones can actually tear and/or choke an anem. I use all invertabrate, to keep from the boney structures. Shrimp, clams, oysters, scallops, and squid. Buy them, freeze them, then grate them with a cheese grater. Refreeze and repeat until desired size is met. Add selcon and garlic extreme and you have yourself nice meals for the next few months. I also use mysis and brine(gut-loaded). Formula 1 is a great choice also. Keep the diet varied and meaty. Keep the feeding time fairly regular. The clowns love these foods also.
