Whats this bump on my ric? (pics)

I just got a ricordea today and when I brought it home, I noticed a bump on it's side. I thought it was a rock, but it's too soft to be a rock and it seems to be attached to my ric.

It copuld be a dying second ricordea that did not make it trough the shipping. I would leave it there and monitor, chances are that if it is it might regenerate with some TLC.

It is some type of sponge, I have a couple rocks of Ricordea that have it on the rock. It is real slippery and soft but firm right? IF it is then that is some type of sponge, I have seen that coming in on quite a bit of ricordea lately. Not just big rocks either but small ruble pieces too...
