Wait for more answers, but it almost looks like an ovipositor the females drop when they're going to lay eggs. I could totally be wrong though, it's kind of hard to see where the thing originates.

I could be the early stage of the Cauliflower disease, which is a virus. At the earliest stage, it may not have the lump appearance.
