Whats up with my tang?

my yellow tang has brown lips, look.....thats the clearest picture...i took it with my phone

Does it move or stay on the lip?

Is the fish acting and eating like normal?

actually today it seems to be gone, hopfully for good, it was just a little brown patch was there for about a week, but i add the garlic guard to his flake mabey that helped whatever it was

do you have alot of brown algae in your tank. Because my yellow tang has the same thing. But i realized that as he cleaned algae of the tank walls and sand, he was rubbing his lips against the algae which makes me think that the algae is rubbing on his lips.

i have seen the same thing with my tangs its just from eating alge off of the rocks.you will probably see it again

yeah i was kind of thinking the same as the last two posts, i do have quite a bit of brown algeqa but its slowly disapearing, i need more cuc

Its lipstick. He must be a she. Mine likes green, red, and brown. Whatever the flavor of the day is.

It just a bump..like a scab..no worries..tangs pick at rocks all day long, mine used to get it all the time. hth
