I've been waiting on you guys! I have basically done what I could on the pump bodies but never heard any go ahead on the fuge so I've just been waiting. I can save Jason a few bucks if he's willing to go 24" wide or 10" deep. I have an unscratched sheet of PET 24 x 48 and planty of cuts to make him a cool fuge that's 1/2 bent rather than fully cut and glued. Let me know ASAP as I need to order some acrylic for paying jobs and would have to add to it for his stuff. Call my celly 330-719-3530 and I could get to work on his fuge tomorrow. Today I'm buried!

What size tank? What size fuge do you want? You could plumb the skimmer off-line and have it drain into the fuge and use that as your fuge feed. Depends on the simmer design tho. IF you changes the out flow you change the entire dymanics of the skimmer and it may not work at all. Impossible to guess at whilr fumbling about in the dark...

Ok, I'm ordering plastic tomorrow (too busy yesterday and I'm swamped today too) I may have it completed by late next week, depends on the curves that life tosses my way... I'll letcha know tho.
BTW, not much luck with the MJ's first high-tech repair run. I have another option that is much lower tech but I doubt I'll get to it soon unless you are in a panic. Or I could get one going as a test platform fairly soon...

It's here but I hope you're sitting down... Freight was more than the plastic sheet. $65 in freight because the sheet was bigger than UPS could ship and I had to pay the freight collect. DAMN! You needed 36 x 6 x 18 so I had to get a 48 x 48 sheet to make it happen. Better go to the bank! Looks like this sucker is gonna cost $89 plus labor plus beer... Oh well, you'll be getting a bigger fuge than you can get online, custom made, and still cheaper than then next closest. I'll be working on plastic most of the day tomorrow and this will be one of the projects.

It will be done tomorrow. I called Jason yesterday and left a message regarding where to put brackets and if you wanted any predrilled holes (much easier for me to do before anything is bent). I plan to add 4 hanging tabs at the same level as the bottom of the inlet and outlet plumbing which supports the fuge on the tank and takes stress off the plumbing. I also wanted to know if you wanted any mounting brackets ot stand-offs for lighting. the sides and partitions are dome and I was going to make the bends, then do the fab. Barring stupidity... it should be ready to pick-up tomorrow.
Actually Dale, you wont really need any hanging tabs, as the fuge wont be hanging. It will be sitting on the same surface as the tank, just behind it. Id say dont worry about mounting brackets for lighting either, because we havent even picked out a fixture. Are you going to be adding a lip onto it for the return? As for the intake, we dont really need anything for that either. Ill check with him about when we can pick it up and get back to you. How much cash and beer should we bring?

Ok, if you want a return spout Ineed to know exactly how high the tank is form the base to the top of the trim, how wide the trim and inside lip is (typically 5/8" for AGA) and at what level the water will be at (you probably don't want tyhe return water falling and splashing). this is why I thought it would be a good idea to use a plumbed return like the CPR design. Please call me when you get a chance 330-719-3530 so I don't make scrap. Bring lots of money and lots of beer... I'm certain I can find good use for both! Actually I'm thinking the cost to make this fuge will be in the $125-150 range (mostly due to material and shipping cost). I work cheap but I had to pay for the material and shipping COD because it came freight. I had $89 bucks in it before I even touched it. this is why I tried to talk you into a slightly smaller unit as I had a piece of material in the shop that would have been cheap cheap... Oh well!

Mike, I made it, I'm not happy with it's structure at all. Way too flimsy! I think I have enough 1/4" lexan to build it as a 5 sided unit with no bends that should be alot stronger. I have a meeting at 2 and need to leave in about 10 min. I'll resume construction tomorrow AM and have the second one done in the afternoon. Still please give me a call so we can go over a few things or you'll just get a rectangular cube with 2 baffles.
