Tring to fiqure out what is up with my ezina. It seems to be dieing off and all tank parameters are in chk. Needless to say I am confused and would like to keep it alive. I have a couple of stalks that moved off the primary rock and are doind great but bthe main colony seems to be disapearing. Any thoughts on this problem, Jason

The zenia that i have deosnt seem to like alot of water flow.
I can put alot of flow on them and they shrink up but when i back the flow off they get full again.
Might help might not.

also check to see if there are anything different happening all of a sudden such as a temperature fluctuation, nearby corals irritating them, or a fish bothering them. a lack of iodine may contribute to their fall too as to my experience they love the heck out of iodine, I know my xenias do.

I supplement iodine every week. There are no corals close to them and the one who moved off the rock are fine. I moved the rock to another tank with no change. Having three tanks I put some in every tank for back up as I do with most of my corals. The only fish that might have a pallet for the would be my fox face but I havent caught him yet. Maybe pepermintshrimp. I have heard that they can get a taste for them. Thanks Jason

I've got a purple tang that loves Cespitularia. A friend has something in his tank that has decided it likes it, too (it's been picked to near death). He has tangs and other algae eaters, so keep an eye on the Fox Face. Xenia can sometimes just crash on you, too, though.
