What's with powerhead makers

Ever notice when ya get a new powerhead you can't use the hang on parts they included and you have to resort to those crappy suction cups??

Funny, I can't figure out why they waste money and jack up the price to include those crappy hang on parts, when the suction cups work better.

I use the powerhead connection that hangs on the tank( so does eveyone i know) since suctions cups will fall off.

After a year or two you won't be saying that suction cups work better. They degrade in the saltwater and light to were they stop working one day and you have a massive sandstrom with sand blown all over your corals.

Ahhh, it just takes time. Now, I understand. Glad I kept all those "crappy" hang on parts. Better go switch out those suction cups before something bad happens.
Not sure if this counts as hijacking, but sorry if it does.

I've had good luck with my suction cups over the long-term, but seem to be an anomaly I guess.

FWIW, the magnet holders [DIY or not] are my favorite solution. But clean suction cup + clean glass + careful has given me good results.

Actually, most of mine are worked into the rockwork so they are not as noticable, but still easy to remove and service.
