What's wrong with my Regal tang?

It appears to have some white scratch marks on its cheek? Can anyone offer some advice? Should I be worried?

image search regal tang with hlle, compare to what you are seeing.
if it looks like it, remove carbon if you run it, feed more nori and consider a food supplement like selcon until things improve.

Yeah main reason I don't run carbon... too many HLLE horror stories (I know it's not proven).

Add some selcon to the nori you feed (increase feeding) and make sure your water is clean.

I wouldn't be too worried it might have scratched on a rock

My purple tang had an identical mark on this face/mouth. He was my prized fish, so I was pretty worried about it. It went away after a day or two. I presume he scratched it or something.
